TEKURA
Ten years building bridges together.
What does it take to build a bridge? Not steel, not concrete — but trust, presence, and a love that stays. For ten years, in places often overlooked and among people often forgotten, we have chosen to stay.
A year of measurable impact
Ten years of small faithfulness
Founded. Dan & Annie Dupree begin Tek Ura from one borrowed room in Tirana.
The first learning hub. Homework clubs and English classes open; the first Albanian staff are hired.
A church is born. Komuniteti i Besimit Tek Ura first gathers to worship in Tirana.
Through the pandemic. Food, heaters and care reach families when the country shuts down.
Durrës opens. A second centre; the work crosses the country to the coast.
Flow & recovery scale up. Inclusive camps, rehab clinics and pathways into work reach hundreds.
Ten years. 14 Albanian staff, 537 people a week, 136 attending 10 church cells.
The land is ours. A permanent home in Durrës; the church now numbers 78 members.
Ten years built the bridge. The next decade is about who crosses it — Albanian-led, globally connected, and rooted for good.
Five programmes, one bridge
Grief and gladness, side by side
The land is ours.
After ten years of building trust in Durrës, we have purchased 366 sq m of land beside our centre — 100% funded by supporters. A permanent home for everything that comes next: accessible soft play and sensory spaces, a container community café beside a sensory garden, and an all-weather covered sports field.
"See, I am doing a new thing… I am making a way in the wilderness." — Isaiah 43:19
Every gift, accounted for
From Tek Ura's audited statements for the year ended 31 December 2025 — an unqualified opinion from UHY Elite, independent auditors. Figures in pounds sterling, converted from the audited Albanian Lek accounts.
Our accounts are independently audited; full audited accounts are available on request. Reserves policy: three to six months of core running costs held to protect frontline work.
In their own words
"I didn't know I was smart until I came here. Now I help other children with their homework too. My teacher says I'm brave."
"I thought my life was finished. Tek Ura didn't judge me. They helped me see I had value. Now I have work, dignity, and a future again."
"I can move my arm better now. And I made friends here. When I come to Tek Ura, I feel like I'm special."
"The best is yet to come." — Annie Dupree, Co-founder & Director
