Komuniteti i Besimit Tek Ura is a church that sets the table before it preaches the sermon — in homes and centres across Tirana and Durrës, where people once pushed to the margins find they are not just welcome, but needed.

He came for physiotherapy. He stayed for a family.
A father first walked through our doors in Tirana not for a church service, but for physiotherapy. His young daughter has cerebral palsy, and the state waiting list is so long that most families simply give up. He had grown up under communism, taught that faith was for the weak — or a cover for foreign NGOs. He never expected to stay.
Four years on, he is one of the most faithful members of our church. He leads prayer. He carries meals to elderly neighbours. He did not become a disciple by hearing a sermon first. He became one by belonging first. That is not the exception here. It is the pattern.
“The question is not, ‘Will you come and hear the gospel?’ It is, ‘Will you let me belong first?’”
How it works
The belonging is unconditional
People are welcomed into the full life of the community — meals, friendship, support, worship — long before they are asked to believe anything. There is no moment at which someone must sign up to the gospel before they are let in. The believing, when it comes, grows from within the belonging.
The church does not meet in one grand building. It gathers in homes and centres across Tirana and Durrës, in small cells that meet to eat, pray, worship and grow, coming together once a month to celebrate. Around the same circle sit people with and without disabilities, families and elders, new believers and lifelong doubters — many from Roma and Egyptian communities long pushed to the edge of Albanian life. No one is an extra. Everyone brings something.
Our pastor
Led by Juri
Juri Arapi leads Komuniteti i Besimit Tek Ura — himself of Roma/Egyptian heritage, and rooted in the very community the church serves. The church is now Albanian-led, growing from its own soil.

Stories from the community
Changed lives, one relationship at a time
Gëzim is in his sixties, a stroke survivor who battled alcohol addiction for many years. When he came to faith, he gave up drinking completely.
“When Christ entered his life, he didn’t just stop drinking — he began to truly live. Today we see how much of a blessing he is to our community.” — Juri
Elton is eighteen. His father disappeared when he was young; he works to support his mother and sister. Recently he asked about starting Bible school in Tirana. “I am thankful to God for everything I have,” he says.
“He may not become a doctor, but I’m confident he will become a fisher of people.” — Juri
On a weekday evening, a group of men gathers with Juri. They eat together, they play darts, they talk about their week — and every time, the Bible is opened, and they pray.
