Tek Ura
Privacy notice
How we look after the information you share with us — and the rights you have over it.
Last updated: July 2026
Who we are
Tek Ura builds bridges between people in Tirana and Durrës, Albania — through community, rehabilitation, education, recovery and church. This notice covers Qendra Tek Ura, an Albanian registered charity (NIPT L61405452M), and our UK sister charity At the Bridge (registered charity no. 1218711), which together are responsible for the information collected through this website.
If you have any question about your information or this notice, please email us at info@tekura.org.
The information we collect
We only collect what we need to stay in touch and to do our work well:
- Contact details you give us — such as your name and email address — when you sign up for updates, get in touch, or ask about visiting, volunteering or partnering with us.
- Giving details when you support us. Donations are handled securely by our giving partner; we do not see or store your card or bank details. Where you choose Gift Aid, we keep the declaration you make.
- Website information such as pages visited, collected through cookies and analytics to help us understand what is useful and improve the site.
How we use it
- To send you the updates, prayer points or newsletters you have asked for.
- To reply to your enquiries and keep in touch as a supporter.
- To process gifts, thank you, keep proper financial records and — where applicable — claim Gift Aid.
- To understand how the website is used and make it better.
Our lawful bases for this are your consent (for example, newsletter sign-ups, which you can withdraw at any time), our legitimate interest in caring for our supporters and running the charity, and our legal obligations (for example, financial and Gift Aid record-keeping).
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information or share it for anyone else's marketing. We use trusted providers to help us operate — including our website host, our email newsletter provider, our online giving partner, and website analytics. These providers act on our instructions and only handle your information to provide their service to us. Some may process data outside your country (for example in the EU or the US) under appropriate safeguards.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your information only for as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it, or as long as the law requires — for example, financial and Gift Aid records are kept for the period set by the relevant tax authority. After that we securely delete or anonymise it.
Cookies
This website uses essential cookies to work properly, and analytics cookies to help us understand how it is used. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time.
Your rights
You have the right to ask us to:
- see the information we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete your information, or limit how we use it;
- stop sending you marketing — you can unsubscribe from any email using the link at the bottom, or by emailing us;
- receive a copy of the information you gave us.
To exercise any of these, just email info@tekura.org and we will help.
Complaints
We hope you will always be happy with how we handle your information. If you have a concern you can contact us first at info@tekura.org. Supporters in the UK also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
